Interact Worldwide Legacies
Interact Worldwide works across some of the poorest parts of the developing world providing the means necessary to escape the cycle of illness and poverty caused by poor standards of sexual and reproductive health.
We target the most vulnerable and highly marginalised communities and work with them often in the face of stigma and discrimination to ensure that their needs to healthcare are met and their rights' respected. We share our task with diverse local partner organisations who we work with on all our programmes, building local capacity and ensuring sustainable benefits for communities. Together we work on the issues of:
Maternal healthcare
Family planning
HIV prevention and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
At the local, regional and global levels we take the voices of the unheard and ensure that those with the power to change people's lives listen. We work on raising awareness and creating a demand for sexual and reproductive health services locally by promoting peoples right's to them and making whole communities comfortable in their use. Awareness is usually all that's required to ensure people don't suffer in silence but often it's one of the hardest things to achieve.
Last year legacies made up over 40% of our total income from individuals and every year they play a huge role sustaining our work and allowing us to plan for the future.
